About Harmony Johnston, LCSW

Trauma-Informed Therapy for Women in Schertz

If you are here, there is likely a part of you that is tired of holding everything together.

Many of the women I work with are strong, capable, and deeply responsible. They manage careers, families, and expectations with competence. And yet, underneath that strength, something feels heavy. Anxiety that does not fully quiet. Emotional reactions that feel confusing. A constant pressure to do more and be more.

I help women move from surviving to flourishing by working gently at the root of the patterns that keep them stuck.

Why This Work Matters to Me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a mom, and someone who understands how easy it is to lose yourself in responsibility.

I have spent over a decade in social work and over five years providing therapy. Again and again, I have seen that what looks like anxiety, perfectionism, or over-functioning on the surface is often an intelligent response to earlier stress or instability.

I care deeply about creating a space where women do not have to minimize what they have lived through. A space that is steady and honest. A space where strength is honored, but the weight underneath it does not have to be carried alone.

In my work providing trauma informed therapy for women in Schertz and surrounding communities, I see every day that healing is possible when depth and steadiness come together.

How I Work With You

Therapy is not just about what we talk about. It is about how we work together.

My approach is relational and structured. I focus on building steadiness first, so deeper work feels supportive rather than overwhelming. Below is what you can expect when we work together.

  • Two young women sitting peacefully after regulation through EMDR therapy

    Steady, Relational Connection

Sessions are grounded and engaged. I will reflect honestly, ask thoughtful questions, and gently challenge when needed. You can expect warmth, clarity, and a steady presence.

    Depth With Structure

I integrate EMDR, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and parts work informed by Internal Family Systems to support meaningful change. Therapy is intentional and guided by both clinical training and experience.

  • Woman in a long floral dress walking through a grassy field during sunset after DBT therapy to regulate her emotions

A Pace That Protects Your Stability

We strengthen emotional regulation and internal steadiness before moving into deeper material. We go deep, but we do not rush.

  • Two women standing in a field at sunset, holding daisies in front of their faces, joyful from trauma healing

    Root Focused, Not Surface Level

Whether you are navigating trauma, burnout, anxiety, or a quiet loss of identity, we look beneath the surface patterns. Together, we work toward change that feels grounded, authentic, and sustainable.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Texas with over 11 years of experience in social work and 5 years providing psychotherapy. My training allows me to integrate structured, evidence-based approaches with steady, relational care.

I blend these tools into a personalized approach, one that fits you, not a checklist.

Training & Clinical Approach

  • EMDR helps the brain reprocess distressing memories so they feel less intense in the present. It can reduce triggers, intrusive thoughts, and body-based anxiety responses while supporting lasting change.

  • Parts work, informed by Internal Family Systems, helps us understand the parts of you that protect, carry pain, or feel stuck. This builds internal trust and compassion while shifting long-standing patterns.

  • I am full model trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy. DBT skills support emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and clarity in relationships, helping create steadiness for deeper work.

  • My work is informed by nervous system and somatic approaches. Healing involves both mind and body, and we move at a pace that supports regulation and embodied awareness.

A Little More About Me

  • Multiple drinks reflecting therapist’s cozy and approachable style

    Mom of Two Energetic Boys

Motherhood continually reminds me how much strength and steadiness women hold every day. It has deepened my respect for the invisible emotional labor so many carry.

  • A trail of steps representing movement out of survival mode

    Barefoot Whenever Possible

I value grounded living and slowing down when possible. Staying connected to what feels steady is something I practice personally and encourage in my work.

  • Visual metaphor for patching emotional wounds in therapy

    Always Learning

I am consistently reading, listening, and studying the work of trauma, relationships, and growth. Curiosity and continued learning are part of how I care well for my clients.

  • Woman preparing to contact her therapist for the first time

    Deep Conversation Over Small Talk

I care about what is real. Meaningful conversation matters to me more than surface exchange. That same value shapes how I show up in therapy.

  • Young woman reconnecting with herself after EMDR sessions

    Home Is My Reset

I appreciate quiet evenings and simple routines. Rest is not indulgent. It is necessary. That belief shapes how I think about sustainability and flourishing.

Therapy is not about becoming someone new. It is about reconnecting with who you already are beneath the pressure, patterns, and expectations.

If you are ready to begin that work, I invite you to schedule a free consultation. We can talk through what is bringing you in and whether this feels like the right fit.
